Nakuru Hostels:
Lake Nakuru National Park is located in the spectacular Eastern Rift Valley in Kenya. The Park is internationally important as a Rhino sanctuary and as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. The WCK hostel is situated close to the Lake with spectacular views of the wildlife which roam close by.
 

Lake Nakuru Has one of the highest densities of bird species of anywhere in the world. With over 450 different species of birds inside the park, including the magnificent lesser flamingo, reaching numbers of over one and a half million.
As a Rhino sanctuary since 1987, Lake Nakuru now holds almost 100 black and white Rhino, and we can guarantee you will go back with some close-up memories!

Lake Nakuru Natonal park holds a variety of different habitats that in turn host many different species of animals. The habitats include saline lake, fresh water springs, acacia woodland, open grassland, high forest, Eurphobia forest and olea forest. Lake Nakuru has the added advantage of being very close to Manengai Crater and the Prehistoric sites of Hyrax Hill and Kariandusi. You can also visit two other fascinating sites, Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo, which are within 2 hours drive.
The hostel was once an old colonial farmhouse, built in the early 1900’s. It offers basic, comfortable accommodation for approximately 40 students and 8 adults. There is a fully equipped kitchen and dinning room facilities, showers and toilets. The sleeping arrangements are dormitories. We can provide a cook to assist you for an additional fee.
We are situated approximately 4km from the main Gate inside the National park so you can even view game without leaving the compound. This is certainly low cost accommodation within one of Kenya’s most popular National parks. It is truly a great place to learn about wildlife and the environment.

Note: The National park entrance fee is free for members. The Kenya Wildlife Service closes the gates to the park at 6.30 p.m. It is important to arrive before this time, unless otherwise arranged with KWS, as this regulation is quite strict.
It would be advisable to book in advance, otherwise accommodation will no be guaranteed. You can do this by sending a money order to the WCK Regional office in Nakuru.
